Faux NO
The day we moved here, we went looking around the neighborhood that we almost rented in. Just down the street was one of the most appalling paint jobs I have ever seen. Apparantly, someone thought it was a good idea to sponge-paint their house. The exterior. With fuschia...and pink. Yikes. I often drive by to cringe and to see if they have come to their senses, but nearly two years later, the paint job remains. I just had to take a picture so I wouldn't forget the serious faux finish faux pas.
Museum
We made plans to go up to San Jose to the children's museum with our friends, but at the last minute their kids were sick. My kids were determined to go so we decided we would go anyway. As were were walking out the door, my friend called and said that her kids were feeling better and that they were going to make it after all. I am so glad they came, our kids have such fun together!

Craft it forward
The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! 2- What I create will be just for you. 3- It’ll be done this year. 4- You have no clue what it’s going to be. 5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Who’s in? Craft it forward tag from Susanne. I'll show you what I got from her when I get it!
Red Box? Genius!

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you how fantastic Red Box is. You want to watch a movie today, it's perfect. $1 vs. the $5 I was paying at Blockbuster. Also, they send you codes to enter so you can get free movies too. Love it! The catch? Make sure you return it the next day or your bill adds up. I haven't encountered that dilemma yet, but I am loving the one day movie rentals!
Certifiable, er... make that Certified
I received my Certification for Turbo Kick in the mail, so now I can officially teach Turbo! I have been able to practice with a few classes at the YMCA and I am ready to go apply for the job. It has been so much fun and I think maybe I know what I want to be when I grow up.

Turbo Kickin' Mama
For the past year and a half, I have been taking Turbo Kickboxing at the gym. I absolutely love it! In order to purchase each round, you have to be a certified instructor. Well, we're going to be moving and I checked out the gym situation in WA. No Turbo Kickboxing. Thus and verily, I am going to certify to teach Turbo. I am so excited and nervous, but mostly excited! This weekend is the big event, so wish me luck and don't ask me to do anything on Monday...I'm pretty sure my body is going to be a bit Jelloish (it's a word, I promise)!

Meant to post, just didn't
Last month, my friend Anita and her family moved away. It was sad and we miss her loads so I am now posting the last night we all had together. Some of my friends are not impressed with the way they look in the picture
s, so I may fuzzy out their faces upon request.
Most places I live, I have 1 or 2 good friends. Here? All these girls fit that description!
Star WHAT?!?
So during our little trip to Seattle, we saw a lot of Starbucks. Seriously, a lot. At one point, I entered it into our GPS just to see how many were around us.
Well, there were 12 that were less than a mile away. Seattle might need to read an article I read. I hope they know how many calories are in those fancy pants coffee drinks! Yikes!!
We're moving on up...literally
This summer we're moving north. Clint will be stationed at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard after he graduates this fall. We decided that we'd like to buy a house in WA, so we started looking online at what kinds of houses were available. There were several brand new houses that were totally in our price range. They were all built by the same builder so we checked out their website. We discovered that we can build a house that is to our specifications and ideals for the same price as an existing house. So we're doing it! Clint's sister came out and stayed with the kids while Clint and I went to WA last weekend. Here are the results:
Ok, so it's not much, but it's OUR dirt lot. This is the site where they will build our next home.
It is right across the street from a little playground and I am so excited about that!
