Pepper anyone?

Clint was commissioned by our friends to make Christmas gifts out of some Koa wood that they brought home from Hawaii. There was even a block of wood large enought to make these two pepper grinders. I think they turned out pretty nice, what do you think?

My talk on faith

So this is how I am working on my talk for Sunday. Blogging. It's wrong, but I can't get motivated to finish writing my talk. I thought I might start out with all the little quotes on faith that we hear: "Faith of a mustard seed," "Faith to move mountains," and then break out in a little rendition of George Michael's version of "Faith." Then I remembered the actual words to that song and thought it would be highly inappropriate. Either way, I'm not getting much done and I should be...really.

Make yourself at home!

On Sunday morning, as I was figuring out what to throw in the crockpot, the dog decided that I looked way too comfy. She hopped right up on me and layed down. I was unimpressed with her initiative and back down to the floor she went.

Oakland

We went up to the Oakland Temple last week and had really nice day to enjoy. Gavin loves to take pictures, so we had him take one of us.
As you may know, I am grammatically finicky. While on our jaunt to Oakland, Cambo had to make a pit stop and I happened to have the camera.

Are we really supposed to lock the door, or is there just a pretend lock? Am I missing the inside joke somewhere?

11 years

Today is our 11 year anniversary. I can't believe it has been that long already. Good for us! Happy Anniversary Clint. I love you!

An annoying trait.

We thought that by getting a dog that was past the puppy stage we would be able to avoid all the irritating behaviors that go along with it. Not so much. Apparently, a girl's gotta have her shoes!!

I have never mentioned the word, "Ballet,"...ever.

The kids came out all dressed up and I thought I should ask questions about their destination. I didn't even know that she had heard of ballet, let alone that she had a pretty good idea of what it was. I love kids' imaginations!

Olympics

They kids begged to stay up to watch the Olympics last night. I figured since it was Friday, I could let them stay up a little late. I suppose I didn't need to worry about it though, they couldn't even force themselves to stay awake.

first week of school

Carson started kindergarten this year and Gavin is our 3rd grader. They have had a great first week at school, but completely exhausting. Every day, Carson came home and had an absolute meltdown. Hopefully, he'll adjust!

Gone Swimmin'

I guess it wouldn't be summer without swim lessons. The boys learned so much and had a great time too. Now I guess I am going to have to take them swimming before next summer so we don't have to start over when they start lessons again!
