The new dog!

Clint has wanted a dog since we got married, but I wasn't really on the same page, so to speak. I always said, "Yeah, yeah, ok we'll get one when our last child is 3." I don't know if I thought we would never stop having kids, or if I was thinking our youngest child would just always be 2. Either way, Cambria is 3. Thus and verily, it's time for a dog. We looked around and found one that would be good for us. Here she is: Sydney. A dachshund (mix) with a sweet personality and an immense tolerance of the kids.

The new wheels

Cambria got a scooter for her birthday. It is the same one that her cousin Hannah got, so it is just for big girls. She thinks it's pretty great, we just have to keep Carson off it. It's pink with princesses, so naturally, it's Carson's favorite!

rOcKiN' oUt!

Well, we bit the bullet and did it (thanks Scott and Jenn). We bought Rock Band. It is so fun! We barely had it out of the box when Clint called his friend over to come try it out. Gavin is on Bass Guitar and Clint is on vocals...not that you couldn't tell from the In-N-Out shirt. Our friend, Will, is rocking out on the drums. We'll most likely be performing nightly, so come on over, maybe you can be our featured artist for a night!

Our Sleeping Beauty

I went in to check on Cambria the other night and this is what I found. Princess dress over the jammies. She did pick the Sleeping Beauty gown, so I guess it made sense. Priceless.

I wanna be bald!

Carson begged me to cut his hair 'bald.' I cut it pretty short, but not before I cut it into the cutest little mohawk ever. He didn't like it and made me cut it off. And by "made me," I mean, screamed and cried until I turned the clippers back on. I got a picture though. I will hold it close to my heart.

Tiny Tot University

Cambria started her first day of preschool today. It's more of a playgroup with crafts, but who cares, it'll be fun! She was very excited and came home all ready to go back. She even brought home her first coloring project...it was a blank piece of paper that someone wrote her name on. She apparently needs a suggestion if she is asked to color something on her own.

the breakfast of champions

I came out to fix my kids some breakfast, but they had already taken the initiative. The boys toasted some bagels and Cambria had the-less-socially-acceptable option of Cool Whip. Mmm, delicious. She was highly offended when I took it away...after I snapped a pic, of course.

Family Picture

With everyone's busy schedules, we managed to get my whole family together for a family picture in the backyard. It's amazing that we got everyone to look at the camera. Hooray for self-timers!

Oh, one more thing, Santa's Workshop!

We all went out to the North Pole for a little amusement park fun. I took my kids and my sister took her kids and they had loads of fun. Everything was great until Gavin went on the spinning teacup ride. It was all downhill from there...

The drive home

We left on the 4th of July and drove to Vegas. Mostly because we gamble so much and really need that free alcohol...but seriously, we wanted the long day of driving to be the first day, rather than the second. Vegas was the option we had for that scenario. We figured it would probably give us the best chance to see some fireworks without having to go anywhere. When we arrived at 5 pm, it was 113 degrees. A bit warm for us Monterey, CA folk. It had cooled off to 101 degrees at 9 pm when the fireworks started. Nevertheless, we didn't go anywhere except right outside our hotel for about 10 minutes and we couldn't even wake up the kids so they missed it. Maybe next year.

Aunt Katie's Pool

"Aunt Katie has a pool." It was talked about daily before we arrived in Colorado. The kids couldn't wait to go, but we just kept getting busy with stuff. We finally decided on a day and made it happen. Unfortunately, our window of opportunity was squashed by the rain clouds. Oh well, we had fun for a little while!

Another fabulous day at the Lake!

A little shin-dig

We had a BBQ at Clint's parents' house and gave Cambria her gifts. A few family friends came to join us and it was a good time for everyone.

Cambria's 3rd Birthday

Cambria was lucky enough to share a birthday party with her cousin Hannah. Her mom made the cake to Cambo's specs. Isn't it fabulous? Thanks Stacey!!

The Hula Hoop genius

Gavin has apparently picked up some mad Hula hoop skillz. Check him out!

Lil' Biggs

We took the kids to Lil' Biggs with their cousins and they had hours o' fun! They played dress up, rode the carousel, jumped in the bounce house and played in the sandbox. It was fabulous for them...of course the day AFTER we went, the radio station announced it was free day. Nice.
