Faux NO

The day we moved here, we went looking around the neighborhood that we almost rented in. Just down the street was one of the most appalling paint jobs I have ever seen. Apparantly, someone thought it was a good idea to sponge-paint their house. The exterior. With fuschia...and pink. Yikes. I often drive by to cringe and to see if they have come to their senses, but nearly two years later, the paint job remains. I just had to take a picture so I wouldn't forget the serious faux finish faux pas.

Museum

We made plans to go up to San Jose to the children's museum with our friends, but at the last minute their kids were sick. My kids were determined to go so we decided we would go anyway. As were were walking out the door, my friend called and said that her kids were feeling better and that they were going to make it after all. I am so glad they came, our kids have such fun together!

Pinewood Derby, baby!

Clint says he's been waiting for this day for 20 years. He and Gavin worked hard on the derby car and had a great time! I was in charge of paint and decals. The Derby night was loads of fun and Gavin can't wait for next year!

OVERKILL

I had to order a windscreen for a wireless microphone headset. The windscreen is about the size of a quarter. Here's the box that it got sent in; 8" x 10"x 8". Was that really necessary? I think not.

We've gone green!

Yes, I know that March 17 was a few days back, but I finally uploaded the pics from our green day! We made green pancakes and milk for breakfast and had a super fun green day!

Sushi night with the Fields. They just left for Annapolis last week and we are sure going to miss them. Love you guys!

Red Box? Genius!

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you how fantastic Red Box is. You want to watch a movie today, it's perfect. $1 vs. the $5 I was paying at Blockbuster. Also, they send you codes to enter so you can get free movies too. Love it! The catch? Make sure you return it the next day or your bill adds up. I haven't encountered that dilemma yet, but I am loving the one day movie rentals!

Certifiable, er... make that Certified

I received my Certification for Turbo Kick in the mail, so now I can officially teach Turbo! I have been able to practice with a few classes at the YMCA and I am ready to go apply for the job. It has been so much fun and I think maybe I know what I want to be when I grow up.

Lake Tahoe, take 3

For our third trip up to the beloved Lake Tahoe, we went with our friends, the Fields. We had so much fun playing in the snow and, despite a few stomach flu bugs, it was absolutely perfect!
