Turbo Kickin' Mama

For the past year and a half, I have been taking Turbo Kickboxing at the gym. I absolutely love it! In order to purchase each round, you have to be a certified instructor. Well, we're going to be moving and I checked out the gym situation in WA. No Turbo Kickboxing. Thus and verily, I am going to certify to teach Turbo. I am so excited and nervous, but mostly excited! This weekend is the big event, so wish me luck and don't ask me to do anything on Monday...I'm pretty sure my body is going to be a bit Jelloish (it's a word, I promise)!

Meant to post, just didn't

Last month, my friend Anita and her family moved away. It was sad and we miss her loads so I am now posting the last night we all had together. Some of my friends are not impressed with the way they look in the pictures, so I may fuzzy out their faces upon request.
Most places I live, I have 1 or 2 good friends. Here? All these girls fit that description!

Star WHAT?!?

So during our little trip to Seattle, we saw a lot of Starbucks. Seriously, a lot. At one point, I entered it into our GPS just to see how many were around us. Well, there were 12 that were less than a mile away. Seattle might need to read an article I read. I hope they know how many calories are in those fancy pants coffee drinks! Yikes!!

We're moving on up...literally

This summer we're moving north. Clint will be stationed at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard after he graduates this fall. We decided that we'd like to buy a house in WA, so we started looking online at what kinds of houses were available. There were several brand new houses that were totally in our price range. They were all built by the same builder so we checked out their website. We discovered that we can build a house that is to our specifications and ideals for the same price as an existing house. So we're doing it! Clint's sister came out and stayed with the kids while Clint and I went to WA last weekend. Here are the results:
Ok, so it's not much, but it's OUR dirt lot. This is the site where they will build our next home.
It is right across the street from a little playground and I am so excited about that!

Guns

The kids got ping-pong guns for Christmas from Clint's dad. They hurt. I mean, really, really hurt. I only know this because my sweet husband didn't know they hurt, and inadvertantly pegged me in the forehead. Carson promptly pegged him back and now he knows. They guns can only go in the hallway and Cambria has clearly relinquished her gun to her dad. Clint uses the linen closet as a barricade while the boys are wide-open. It's pretty comical.

positively mysterious

If you drive around Monterey at any given moment, you will spot at least 1 in 5 cars with a "Mystery Spot" bumper sticker. We decided we must be missing out on something so we took a trip up to Santa Cruz to check it out. Turns out, they just give free bumper stickers away to everyone. It was enjoyable, but you will not be seeing a "Mystery Spot" sticker on my car. The highlight for the kids was actually standing next to a little girl who refunded her entire lunch onto the patio. Exciting stuff, I tell ya!
Clint is 5'11" and the lady on this end is 5'1", although the board is level, they appear to be the same height

Look out Jamie Oliver--

We have our very own Naked Chef. Cambria got a "kitchen just like Elliot's" for Christmas and set straight to cooking up a feast. Apparantly, clothes are not a requirement.

Christmas In California

My parents came out for Christmas this year and my brother came out a few days later. All in all a grand time. We busted out the ol' Rock band and went crazy. I just have to smile at my parents on Guitar.
